| Uganda:Supporting women's associations Lessons from the DDR program in Uganda lead to a new activity supporting vulnerable women |
The findings of various evaluations of the Uganda Demobilization and Reintegration Program, which ended in 2011, showed that women, both female reporters and female community members, are the most vulnerable groups in Uganda. Other studies in DRC and RoC have shown the social and economic benefits of working in associations, with both ex-combatants and community members working side by side.Using these results, the TDRP is preparing a new activity to support women in Northern Uganda. They will receive training to be able to create and manage economic associations relevant to their local market conditions. Read complete article |
